one of the things that i find very offensive is when people stop listening to you mid-argument and brushes you off saying "yeah whatever you win."

i hate that.

it's implying that the important thing about arguing is winning. it's implying that i'm disagreeing for the sake of having the opposite opinion. and it's being utterly disrespectful towards my thoughts and perspective as a human being. I don't take 'mengalah' as a valid excuse. You call this tolerance? By lulling me into the false pretense of being right but shoving myopinions out of the way is considered to be tolerance?

It's ironic that the person would claim that you think you're always right, but by making that assumption, he/she also thinks that their opinion is right. What if I'm right and you're wrong? You wouldn't want to hear my opinions because you think you are right. You're not even giving a chance, you just downright dismissed it.

I want to get things straight. If I'm wrong, and you're right, then give justifications to your statement so I could agree to it. If I'm right and you're wrong, then let me tell you exactly why I think I'm right. The point of the argument is not to win, but to reconstruct our perceptions relative to others.

You don't have to agree with me, but at least hear me out before you reject my point of views.
